dON'T sIT, gET sOME sUNLIGHT

There is a basic essential element which almost we all are missing in our daily life without warning, which can only be gathered directly from Sunlight (there are few indirect means).

Friends, I am talking about Vitamin D – The sunshine vitamin!!!

Why vitamin D?

It helps in fighting allergies and helps body use calcium for bones. So indirectly, it keeps our bones strong. Other than a disease called Rickets (which causes skeletal deformities), there are many health problems which are associated with its deficiency – like eye dryness, bone pain, muscle weakness, severe asthama, osteopenia, cardiovascular diseases, or even cancer.

Now, you might be wondering, why am I talking only about Vitamin D, why not Vitamin A, or C, or B complex. Let me tell you, Vitamin D is the only nutrient which we can get only from sunlight. Though we get other essential nutrients from food and dairy products. I have recently come across a realization that with growing advancement, we are getting addicted to facilities like AC, traveling in luxurious cars. Besides, work needs are increasing, so we hardly take out time to come out of our cocoon into fresh air.  All this is badly cutting our Vitamin D supply and slowly deteriorating our bones and skin.

Let me tell you,my boss has been diagnosed with Osteopenia, which is an initial stage of osteoporosis (bone deterioration). My friend has eye dryness problem. One of my colleagues had joint pain. After medical examination, doctor told him about Vitamin D deficiency and advised him to take some sunlight daily. There is a great possibility, that if you go for a diagnosis, you might also be having the same deficiency. (Specially if you avoid Sun and are a strict vegetarian).

Recommendation: Friends, I would advise you all to bathe in sunlight every morning preferably (6:30 to 7:00) which is highly beneficial for your body and can protect you from many disorders. (Remember prevention is better than cure.)

There is another alternative too – Cheese, milk (preferably soybean milk which has 119 IU of Vitamin D). Besides, its nutritional content is much better than cow milk.
